Interior Designer

 

We are growing, and have an exciting opening on our Storehouse no.9 Design Team!  We are looking for a qualified candidate to join Jill and our collaborative team! The Interior Design position at Storehouse no.9 requires someone who has proven design experience, with a portfolio. The designer will create beautiful, functional spaces for clients, using experience, industry knowledge, innovative design concepts and creativity, all while keeping within the Storehouse no.9 aesthetic. The ideal candidate will have a collaborative spirit, outstanding communication skills and a high level of professionalism in all interactions.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Three (3) years minimum experience in active interior design and project management
  • Lives within a 20-30 mile radius our retail store at 320 4th Avenue N, Franklin, TN
  • Excellent with communication, both verbal and written
  • Extremely personable and approachable in all interactions. Good listener. Takes good notes.
  • Very detail orientated and accurate in all tasks, quotes, presentations, and communications
  • Demonstrates initiative in closing new business, growing the store’s design business, and is self-motivated
  • Works well in a team format and is open to positive feedback
  • Computer literate; familiar with design management and floorplan layout software
  • Demonstrates a good eye for scale and balance, color and material relationships in both architecture and FF&E
  • Enthusiastic and positive attitude. Develops strong relationships
  • Represents Storehouse no.9 solely and is 100% affiliated with the store on all projects and hours, no exceptions
  • Can lift and move heavy objects, up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work on design projects consistently without unnecessary delay for on-schedule completion
  • Ability to organize, implement, and constantly improve operational processes related to Design Services
  • Uses honesty and integrity in all matters, without exception

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Gather and document client’s preferences, budget, and project goals
  • Accurately estimate project costs
  • Be an expert on Storehouse no.9’s product lines and offering
  • Research, source, and compile design elements to meet the expectations of the client
  • Present design options in a professional and attractive way that clearly represents the project plan
  • Gain approval from clients at every phase
  • Conduct site visits and communicate with contractors and subcontractors
  • Act as project manager with each project, taking it from concept to completion
  • Client engagement with frequent communication throughout project, from consultation to install
  • Handle any complaints in a calm and professional manner to satisfaction
